Swans are knocked back in bid for Brazilian defender Sousa
Western Mail
|July 02, 2025
SWANSEA City have reportedly had a bid knocked back for Molenbeek’s Brazilian centre-back David Sousa, writes Tom Coleman.
According to The Athletic, the Swans made an offer worth £858,000 for the 23-year-old, which is believed to be below the Belgian club's valuation.
Sousa currently has one year left on his current deal with Molenbeek, where he was a regular last season, making 28 league outings.
It seems he’s seen as an important first-team player by his current employers, but Swansea are believed to be reluctant to match their asking price.
As such, the deal now isn’t expected to progress any further.
However, the Swans are still keen on bringing some new faces into the building before the start of the season, having already brought four new signings on board this summer.
