FEW players have had to be more patient than Olly Cracknell.

Leicester Tigers’ number eight has been at his bruising best for two years at Mattioli Woods Welford Road and this week was rewarded with his Wales debut.

But it’s been a long time coming. At 31 years and 166 days, Cracknell (pictured) is the fifth oldest man to debut for Wales, despite earning rave reviews, especially since joining Tigers in 2022.

“It was amazing. It was a really special week last week. I think being a bit older and having a bit of experience made it a bit sweeter for me,” said Cracknell.

“Having had a bit more experience, I felt like I could really enjoy it a bit more and felt very ready for it”
