Russell Tovey and Gugu Mbatha-Raw star in the War Between the Land and the Sea
THE War Between the Land and the Sea is Russell T Davies' latest Doctor Who spin-off.
Featuring Russell Tovey, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Jemma Redgrave, the new programme exists within the Doctor Who universe, though notably without the Doctor's presence.
The BBC series, which explores humanity's response when an ancient and formidable species rises from the depths of the ocean, kicked off on Sunday with a double bill.
Fans of the programme have been raving about the show's visuals.
Much of the underwater sequences were constructed in Cardiff.
Discussing the production, Gugu, who portrays Salt, said: "The Empress Hall set was huge. The size of those sets that they had built there in Cardiff were really, really epic.
