A CONVICTED killer held a knife to a stranger's throat and demanded money from his terrified victim, a court has heard.

Killer robbed man at knifepoint

Brynley Stephens, who has a previous conviction for manslaughter as well as convictions for multiple assaults and weapons offences, carried out the robbery in his own flat after a woman took the victim to the address under false pretences.

Swansea Crown Court heard 54-year-old Stephens later lied to police about having found the victim and woman in bed in his flat.

Making Stephens the subject of an extended sentence as a dangerous offender, the judge told him: "You have had the capacity to kill in the past. It does not seem to have diminished."

Ian Wright, prosecuting, told the court that on the evening of September 8 last year the complainant in the case was in the company of a woman he had known for a couple of months and with whom he was in some form of relationship.
