Just keep waiting in the wings, Roberts tells Wales stars overlooked for Lions

British & Irish Lions head coach Andy Farrell revealed his 38-player squad on Thursday for the upcoming tour of Australia.

The team will be returning to face the Wallabies for the first time since Welsh legend Sam Warburton led them to a series win in 2013.

Just two Wales players were named in the collective - Jac Morgan and Tomos Williams - the lowest Welsh representation on a Lions tour in almost 90 years.

Prior to the team being named, former captain Warburton had name-checked Blair Murray, Taulupe Faletau, Dewi Lake, Morgan and Williams for his Welsh Lions, but three of those missed out.

At the squad announcement in London, Warburton’s former Wales teammate Jamie Roberts was in attendance. Roberts said the squad would change, so more players would get their opportunity.
