Happy Monday for Welsh contingent

On Track
STRATFORD was the scene of plenty of Welsh success on Monday, when champion jockey Sean Bowen was unsurprisingly among the winners.
Bowen is setting a ferocious pace in the jockeys’ title race, but a planned break for jumps racing meant he had been on the sidelines.
He wasted no time extending his lead at Perth on Saturday through Break Point, who won a maiden hurdle, while the prolific rider doubled up on King Roly, successful in a novice handicap chase.
King Roly is trained by Bowen's elder brother Mickey, who also supplied his sibling with a Stratford winner in the shape of Way Maker.
He is now owned by former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp and, by winning the card’s bumper, took his record to two victories from as many appearances.
Bowen, by then, had landed the 2m½f handicap hurdle on Jet Patrol.
“It was strange because he was settled for the first two hurdles and then got really keen for two or three furlongs before switching off again,” he said of Jet Patrol.
