ORGANISERS of an event which has seen Cardiff Bay transformed into a Halloween adventure land for half-term have apologised to those who attended on its opening day and assured people that things will improve over the rest of the attraction's week-long run.

Halloween Island firm's pledge after frightful opening

Cardiff Halloween Festival returned to Alexandra Head on Saturday with a new family-friendly event running until October 31, when families will be able to board the Ghost Ship to sail across the Bay before stepping on to Halloween Island.

But some have been scared off the idea of returning, claiming it is something of a pumpkin.

One woman who attended on Saturday said it was the “worst event” she'd ever been to.

“If you have booked the Halloween Festival in Cardiff this year at the new location try and get a refund!” she posted on Facebook.

“It's honestly the worst event I've ever been to.

“After paying nearly £90 for the five of us, waited 45 minutes to get on the ‘pirate boat’ which was actually just a water taxi, to then enter through what looked like a Covid jab queue and get inside to pay for absolutely everything separately.
