FM wants bilingual ID card featuring Welsh flag as she supports PM’s plans

FIRST Minister Eluned Morgan has said the people of Wales should be offered a bilingual digital ID featuring their flag as she supported plans announced by Sir Keir Starmer.

The Prime Minister unveiled the plans on Friday and said the ID would be mandatory for people working in the UK, as part of a bid to tackle illegal immigration.

Speaking at First Minister's Questions, Mrs Morgan said she did not object to the UK Government's proposals but wanted to see a bilingual card rolled out in Wales, including the Welsh flag.

Ministers have said the ID will only be required as proof of the right to work, but there is scope for its use to be widened in future to access public services.
