Family came home to find woman sat in their kitchen

A WOMAN burglar hurled vile racist abuse at a police officer after she was arrested when a family came home and found her sitting in front of their freezer, a court has heard.

Lorraine Merriman, 46, burgled a flat in St Helen’s Road in Swansea on July 20 this year.
Yesterday, Swansea Crown Court was told the family had been to a nearby park with their young child and when they returned found their home in “complete disarray” with damaged items on the floor.
A TV and a mirror were smashed, food was taken, clothes removed from drawers, and toys were strewn all over the floor. The flat was in such a mess the family were unable to stay there that night.
