Exile’s frustration ends with triumphant return

LEX Robertson admits the frustration of his Cardiff City exile earlier this season has made his Boxing Day goal all the sweeter, as the midfielder revealed how his close bond with Brian Barry-Murphy has helped him rediscover his best form.

Robertson last week scored his first Cardiff goal of the campaign - and his first since January - in the first of two wins in a matter of days, which sees the Bluebirds end 2025 three points clear at the top of League One.

Robertson’s return to the first-team fold was perplexing for fans at the start of the campaign and the 22-year-old admits there was frustration on his part too.
