Ashley Fletcher scored twice for the home side as Cardiff dropped to fourth in the League One table.

Tom Bloxham added Blackpool's third late on, with Yousef Salech netting a consolation effort for the Bluebirds in stoppage time.

The reverse means Cardiff are now two points behind league leaders Stockport County. But it remains tight at the top, with just three points covering the top seven.

"It's a very disappointing result for us," said Barry-Murphy.

"We would have liked to do a lot better in a lot of the game.

"We created a lot of chances throughout the course of the game. But the way that we play and the way that we attack so much is not an excuse for us to defend the moments that we had to defend in the manner we did.

"We want to be as disciplined a team in defence as we are in attack, and today we weren't.
