Choir makes Annette's festival dream come true

A CHOIR paid a moving tribute to their musical director as they competed in the Eisteddfod for the first time, only weeks after her death.

Pianist and accompanist Annette Bryn Parri died aged 62 in May, after a short period of illness.

She helped found the North Wales Police Choir, one of 13 choirs competing in the Côr Newydd competition.

With almost 60 members including officers, staff and volunteers, along with colleagues who are now retired, the choir meets weekly at the police headquarters in Colwyn Bay.

To pay tribute to Annette, members of the choir wore one of her scarves while on stage.

Conductor Sergeant Arwyn Tudur Jones, said: "It was Annette’s dream to see us compete on the Eisteddfod stage, so we are proud to make it come true.
