CARDIFF suffered a heavy defeat to Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park which condemned the Welsh club to an away tie in the Challenge Cup's round of 16.

Corniel van Zyl’s side had plenty of territory and possession but were lacking in power against an Exeter side who were significantly more clinical.
Exeter scored five tries in total with Bachuki Tchumbadze (2), Joseph Dweba, Julian Heaven and Paul Brown-Bampoe touching down, while Henry Slade kicked six points.
Cardiff were on the back foot from the get-go. After a period of sustained pressure, Georgian tighthead Tchumbadze powered over from close range with Slade adding the extras.
