BATH TIME HELPING TO PUT ARCHIE IN SHAPE FOR TESTS

GAME-TIME has been hard to come by for Archie Griffin at Bath, but the Wales tighthead is confident competing with the likes of Springboks star Thomas du Toit and England powerhouse Will Stuart will stand him in good stead this autumn.
Wales head coach Steve Tandy during a training session at the Principality Stadium last week
Tighthead prop is hardly a position of strength in Welsh rugby, but Griffin is viewed by many as Wales’ best hope.
The 24-year-old has only played twice in the Gallagher Prem this season with du Toit, Stuart and England U20s star Vilikesa Sela ahead of him in the pecking order.
There are many who believe Griffin would be better served moving to another club in search of game-time, but he does not subscribe to that theory.
"I think Johann (van Graan) always talks about best attack versus best defence in our environment," he said.
"It’s competitive for a reason.
"Because we've got that depth, that's how we stay ahead of everyone.
"Like we are meant to train like we're second best.
"I think I certainly get that when I've got those two ahead of me (du Toit and Stuart) and then the opposite me.
