BRIAN Barry-Murphy has dismissed links with Scottish giants Celtic, and insists he's happy at Cardiff City.

Reports had suggested the Irishman was potentially on the shortlist of candidates to replace Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked last month.

Middlesbrough were also touted as possible admirers, although they now look set to name Swansea City target Kim Hellberg as their next boss.

In any case, Barry-Murphy insists he has no intention of leaving his post any time soon.

"Nothing," he said when asked what he'd heard about possible interest.

"I feel genuinely privileged to be here. I hope to stay here for a long time if they'll have me.

"I'm genuinely very, very grateful to be here."

"I sometimes cringe when I hear those sort of responses," he added when it was suggested the links were a reflection on his work in the capital.
