Appeal to identify body of man washed ashore

AN APPEAL has been launched to try to identify a man whose body washed up on a rocky beach near a Welsh caravan park.

On December 16, 2023, South Wales Police discovered the man between Slade Bay and Green Meadow Caravan Park, Oxwich.

But since that time, officers have been unable to identify him.

The coroner for Swansea has now opened an inquest into the death of the man, referred to as the pseudonym John Doe for the purpose of the proceedings.

It heard how the man's body was discovered near the coastal bank by a dog walker, who walked the same route daily, at 2.10am that day, noting the body was not present the previous day.
