Perrott close to within a point after toppling leaders

NORTH Perrott closed the gap at the top of the West of England Premier League Somerset Division to just one point after they brought leaders Temple Cloud's unbeaten start to a crashing end.

Despite a solid 60 from Temple's opener after the hosts decided to bat, Perrott were able to largely starve him of support as they went from 73-3 to 111-6. A seventh-wicket partnership of 46 stabilised things, before Temple were bowled out for 190 halfway through the 47th over. Ronnie Frost brought the innings to a close with 3-30, while Archie Frost also picked up a couple of wickets and a run out.
