West date for controversial Irish rappers

CONTROVERSIAL Irish rap trio Kneecap have announced a huge new tour of the UK, and included their biggest date in Bristol yet, this autumn.

The Belfast rappers will perform at the Prospect Building in St Philips in mid-November, as part of a tour that includes dates in Bournemouth, Cardiff, Liverpool and Birmingham.

Ten new shows have been added to their already busy touring schedule that includes festivals across Europe and a tour of the US and Canada in October.

One date that is not on Kneecap’s tour list, although the band are encouraging fans to come and support them outside, is the next court appearance for rapper Liam Og O hAnnaidh.

The 27-year-old, who performs under the name Mo Chara, is accused of displaying a flag in support of proscribed terrorist organisation Hezbollah at a gig in London, and will next appear in court on August 20.
