Station's out of service during upgrade works

GLOUCESTER railway station is out of service this week as improvement work takes place.
Network Rail is beginning the upgrade of the Gloucester signal box and the closure, which began on Saturday, will continue until Sunday, October 5. The work entails the replacement of over 10,000 wires within the signal box, enhancing the existing infrastructure and bolstering its reliability for passengers journeying through Gloucestershire.
The signal box, originally built in the 1960s, now needs to have certain components upgraded to enhance its dependability.
Trains originating from Bristol, Worcester, Swindon, and South Wales are all managed at Gloucester.
