Social media platforms warned over scam posts

SOCIAL media firms could be held legally responsible for failing to block scams from their platforms, a minister has said.

Fraud minister Lord Hanson said he has put social media companies "on notice", warning them to protect their users from scammers or face tougher rules.
It comes as he launched the UK Government's new fraud strategy designed to encourage police, intelligence agencies, banks, mobile networks and major tech firms to work together on the issue.
