Rees-Zammit has eventful return in cup

LOUIS Rees-Zammit was in the thick of the action at a hostile Kingsholm as his new side beat his old one in the Prem Rugby Cup, writes John Evely.
Bristol Bears triumphed 40-24 on Friday night - a result which was rarely in doubt from the moment Gloucester opted to rest their best players ahead of their Gallagher Prem opener against Sale this Thursday.
Rees-Zammit, who left the Cherry & Whites in January 2024 to pursue what turned out to be an unfulfilled dream of becoming an NFL player, was greeted by a chorus of boos from the moment his name was read out by the stadium announcer.
