Pharmacy is instructed to leave site by practice

A SOMERSET medical group has instructed Jhoots pharmacy to leave the building next to the GP practice in Portishead by the end of the month.

Portishead Medical Group (PMG), which operates the Victoria Square surgery, informed patients about the situation with Jhoots Pharmacy in a letter, following a whole raft of ongoing issues, including a persistent shortage of a qualified pharmacist on site.

It follows comments made by North Somerset MP Sadik Al Hassan suggesting that the Jhoots chain should be “shut down” due to similar problems reported at other branches

The letter highlighted the impact on patients and the additional workload for the surgery as patients seek duplicate prescriptions. It appears that Por-tishead is not the only location experiencing such issues with Jhoots.
