A POLICE officer has been sacked after being found guilty of gross misconduct for "inappropriate" sexual touching of a woman and being thrown out of a boxing event for being drunk.

- BEN MITCHELL wdp@reachplc.com

A Dorset Police spokesman said that Police Constable Remi Damiani was found to have breached standards of professional behaviour at a disciplinary hearing held at the force's headquarters in Winfrith.

The finding led to him being dismissed without notice and added to the College of Policing's list of barred officers.

The force spokesman said: "The hearing heard allegations that Police Constable Remi Damiani attended a boxing event while off duty, was ejected because he was drunk, shouted obscenities at door staff and colleagues and tried to use his status as a police officer to gain readmission.

"It is also alleged that PC Damiani sexually touched a woman, who was known to him.
