Massive disappointment at run of defeats - Taylor
Western Daily Press
|June 17, 2025
KIPPER Jack Taylor admits that there is “massive hurt and disappointment” amongst the Gloucestershire ranks following a fifth defeat from five matches in their Vitality Blast title defence.
‘The Glo'sters’ hopes of retaining their crown seemingly lie in ruins having failed to collect a single point, with Hampshire, currently in the final qualification spot for the knockout rounds, 14 points better off.
Gloucestershire suffered another heavy defeat on Sunday, losing by 40 runs to Glamorgan in Bristol.
Half-centuries from 21-year-olds Ben Kellaway and Asa Tribe saw the visitors post 189 for six after winning the toss, Kellaway hitting a careerbest 53 and Tribe a scintillating 63 not out off 28 balls. Ajeet Singh Dale claimed three for 17 from four overs.
In reply, Gloucestershire stumbled to 149 for nine, Cameron Bancroft making 52 and D'Arcy Short 34.
Leg-spinner Mason Crane finished with Richard Latham & Andy Stockhausen ECB Reporters Network supported by Rothesay with a career-best four for 20 as the Welsh county secured a fourth win of the South Group phase.
