Decision day for tapas bar's street seats

A DECISION is due next week on whether a popular restaurant can keep its outdoor tables after being threatened with a notice forcing their removal.

But a leading councillor warned that the shed-style structure protecting the tables from the rain would block inspections of utilities.

Bravas is a tapas bar on Cotham Hill in the Redland area of Bristol. It is located on a short section of the street that was pedestrianised during the pandemic. Previously clogged up with car parking, the area has been transformed with outdoor seating for cafes.

Bravas put up canopies above its outdoor seating to protect customers from the weather but Bristol City Council has recently hit the restaurant with an enforcement notice, ordering the removal of covered seating area.
