Smallholders guilty of neglect are banned from keeping farm animals

TWO smallholders have pleaded guilty to five charges of animal cruelty in a “distressing” neglect case.
Paul Ford and Rebecca Austin allowed their animals to live around dangers such as scrap metal and live electrical wires.
The pair have now pleaded guilty to five charges of animal cruelty and been banned from keeping farm animals for five years. They were also ordered to pay a total of £11,855 in fines and court costs.
On Thursday, May 8, magistrates heard that during the winter of 2023 Ford and Austin, of Little Chacewood Farm and Farm Shop, Truro, neglected their animals.
