FRIDAY the 13th proved to be anything but unlucky for Ditcheat trainer Paul Nicholls as he scooped a double at Newton Abbot.

Double in Devon dispels any bad omens for Nicholls

Victories for two of his three runners, all of whom were favourites on the afternoon, have pushed Nicholls onto 11 winners from 25 runs to close in on nearly £100,000 already for the campaign.

After evens favourite Keel Strand lived up to the billing at the same track at the start of the month, alongside a win for Byzantium at Warwick on the same day, Nicholls returned to the Devon track looking for further success.

His evening began with 5/6 favourite Seeyouinmydreams comfortably coming home by 22 lengths in the two-runner Country Show On 9th August Mares’ Handicap Hurdle.
