POIGNANT CHRISTMAS AHEAD FOR PANTO STAR GETHIN AFTER LOSS OF DAD

October 19, 2025

This may be due to tough work deadlines, financial pressures due to the cost-of-living crisis or because they've lost a loved one and it's their first Christmas without them.

- INDIGO JONES

CHRISTMAS can be the most wonderful time of the year, although for some it can be the most difficult.

That will be the case for BBC Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones in December, after he lost his father earlier this year.

At the time, the presenter shared the sad news on Instagram, saying his father had “the most perfect, peaceful end. Welsh hymns playing, and the grandsons on speaker phone saying goodbye”.

After a tough year dealing with the loss, the presenter is back on our screens and will soon be stepping onto the stage.

Gethin will be taking part in this year’s Christmas pantomime in Cardiff's New Theatre.

He will once again be starring as the show's prince, as he marks his second panto in the capital city’s theatre, following his performance in Cinderella last year.
