Curzon’s bid to open cinema at Hammersmith Civic Campus

CURZON is “in negotiations” with Hammersmith and Fulham Council to open a new cinema as part of the local authority's Civic Campus development.

The company, which was founded in 1934 and is best known for its Mayfair and Soho sites, submitted a premises licence last month requesting permission to run a cinema at the town hall. If approved it would enable Curzon to show films until 1am Monday to Sunday.

The Civic Campus scheme will transform the King Street site into a complex with restaurants, rooftop bars, the cinema, arts and work spaces and a redeveloped town hall.

It also contains 204 new homes, 52 per cent of which are affordable. These are already complete and residents have begun moving in.
