NICKLAUS SPOTS A WINNING VIRTUE

JACK NICKLAUS has warned anyone hoping to be crowned US Open champion tonight that Oakmont demands “patience.”
The 18-time Major champion (left) won the first of his four US Open titles at the historically treacherous Oakmont Country Club in 1962. Nicklaus reeled in Arnold Palmer to force an 18-hole playoff, where the Golden Bear emerged victorious.
The victory represented the first of Nicklaus's record Major haul.
