Fiona demands law on tree inspections

THE wife of a man killed by a falling branch is calling for a new law to help stop future tragedies.

Fiona Hall's husband Chris, 48, died as he walked his dog in a park. Shockingly, the council knew the tree posed a risk nearly a year before the horror, but failed to remove it.

Local authorities are not currently required to inspect trees regularly.

Fiona said the tragedy had left a huge void in the lives of her and their 27-year-old son Sam.

She added: "Chris's death was completely avoidable. He was taken from this world in a heartbeat."
