HOSPICES IN £75M BOOST

Cash will upgrade sites to improve care for dying

HOSPICES will get a record £75million boost for building upgrades to ensure dying patients receive more comfortable care.

More than 170 in England will receive a share of the funding for building separate family rooms and communal lounges, and for adding solar panels to reduce energy costs.

Among the sites benefiting is Wigan and Leigh in Greater Manchester, which health minister Stephen Kinnock visited last week.
