Their passion for rare models takes them to places such as Dempsey Hill and Leng Kee Road, where they can spot and photograph such vehicles
Executive Photojournalist Car spotting is the hobby of observing and photographing interesting and rare cars on public streets.
While a survey by The Straits Times in 2022 found that fewer young people are aspiring to own cars, some of them can be seen armed with cameras to photograph cool wheels at places such as Millenia Walk, Dempsey Hill which is across from the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Leng Kee Road in the Queenstown area, where the major car showrooms are located.
They also visit car meets that they learn about from social media and messaging platforms.
Informal car meets have been attracting more car spotters over the years, organisers tell ST.
Cars & Kopi, a gathering of car enthusiasts, drew around 70 participants at its latest instalment at Dempsey Hill on Aug 9 - up from an average of 10 people at events four years ago.
