S'pore shares rise on cautious optimism after Wall Street's rally

Wall Street's overnight rally on the back of fading concerns about the economic threat posed by US President Donald Trump's tariffs helped local shares head north on Feb 6.
The warily optimistic mood left the Straits Times Index (STI) up 0.4 per cent or 15.05 points at 3,830.42, with gainers outstripping losers 352 to 186 after 1.3 billion shares worth $1.1 billion changed hands.
Wall Street set the stage for the local rally, mild as it was.
