We thank the writer of the Forum letter “Clearer rules needed for pet-friendly dining areas” (Nov 3) for the feedback.

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) regularly reviews our food safety regulatory framework through a science-based risk management approach, to safeguard consumer health while considering the evolving needs of the food industry.
Retail food businesses that are not serving pet food no longer need to seek additional approval from SFA to allow patrons to bring pets along for dine-in at outdoor refreshment areas.
