Porsche Macan 4 is punchy, comfy and city-friendly

The compact electric sport utility vehicle is also spacious and exceptionally stable at high speeds
The Porsche Macan Turbo, which I test-drove in Germany in October, was truly impressive. Quick, fast, stable and surprisingly comfortable—often at unmentionable speeds as well as on twisting mountain roads that you will never encounter in Singapore.
For a reality check, an international car review is always followed up by a local drive when the new model arrives. This is because a car which excels on an autobahn and surprisingly well-paved B-roads may not shine as brightly when driven at home.
Instead of the Macan Turbo, the tamer Macan 4 is made available by Porsche Singapore. This is fine, since the Macan 4 will be the main seller here before the rear-wheel-drive Macan arrives in 2025. It sits below the Macan 4S which, in turn, sits below the Macan Turbo.
Despite having far less firepower than the Turbo, the 4 is no slouch. With a motor on each axle, it has 300kW and 650Nm at its disposal, which is respectable. It accomplishes the century sprint in 5.2 seconds and peaks at 220kmh, which are also more than decent figures.
