Trainer Munce hopes 5YO turns his luck around in Moir Stakes

Payline Aims to Win First Group 1 in Melbourne

MELBOURNE - A capacity field of 15 runners and one emergency acceptor have been declared for the A$750,000 (S$631,000) Group 1 Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley on Sept 6.

The 1,000m dash is headlined by the Robert Heathcote-trained Queensland galloper Rothfire, who will be joined by fellow northern-state gallopers Payline and Golden Boom.

Trained by Chris and Corey Munce, Payline was given the opportunity to get a look at the Moonee Valley circuit in a gallop at the track on the morning of Sept 2.

Payline will be having his first start the Melbourne way of going, after having raced exclusively in Queensland throughout his 21-start career that has netted five wins.

The five-year-old son of Shooting To Win has raced at Group 1 level in his last three starts, but did not win.

His best result was a third behind winner Sunshine In Paris and runner-up Rothfire in the Doomben 10,000 (1,200m), during the Brisbane Winter Carnival on May 17.
