Not just boasting rights for noisy neighbours City in Mancunian derby

Mind the gap? As Manchester United prepared for their latest cross-town trip to Manchester City's Etihad, they entered the weekend above their rivals in the English Premier League table. It's early season, and there's just one point in it but after three matches, it's City rather than United who have more questions to answer.

Not that Ruben Amorim's continued struggle to tame the United beast is in any way done; it took last-minute dramatics to rescue three points from Burnley a fortnight ago. United are now without Andre Onana, loaned to Trabzonspor, and while Senne Lammens, their new goalkeeper, beds in, the less-than-reliable Altay Bayindir will keep goal.

Both clubs are at low ebbs but City are going through uncharacteristic turbulence, the problems of last season are being echoed.
