Iran launches ballistic missile attack on Israel

Iran fired a salvo of ballistic missiles at Israel on Oct 1 (early Oct 2 in Singapore) in retaliation for Israel's campaign against Tehran's Hezbollah allies in Lebanon.

Alarms sounded across Israel and explosions could be heard in Jerusalem and the Jordan River valley after Israelis piled into bomb shelters.
Reuters journalists saw missiles intercepted in the airspace of neighboring Jordan. Israeli media reports said as many as 100 missiles had been launched.
AFP journalists reported dozens of explosions booming across Jerusalem as air raid sirens rang out, with what appeared to be air defense interceptors echoing over the city.
Iran's official IRNA news agency said Tehran had launched "a missile attack on Tel Aviv", without elaborating.
