Greece's Thessaloniki: An Underrated Gem

The foodie city has a youthful personality, laid-back vibe and affordable prices without the tourist throngs

Thessaloniki is not a place that springs to mind when one thinks about a vacation in Greece, but that is at least part of its appeal.

During my four days there in March, multiple locals asked why I chose to visit their city.

Certainly, there are Greek destinations more renowned - Santorini's dazzling white buildings, studded with the blue domed roofs of Greek Orthodox churches; Corfu's pristine beaches and Venetian architecture; the pulsing nightlife and beach clubs of Mykonos.
