Commissioner of Police Hoong Wee Teck to retire after 38 years in the force

Commissioner of Police Hoong Wee Teck, 62, will retire on Jan 6, after 10 years at the helm of the police force in a career spanning 38 years.
He will hand over the baton to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Policy) How Kwang Hwee, 46, said the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Oct 6.
Mr Hoong was appointed commissioner on Jan 6, 2015. Earlier in his career, he held a raft of key positions, including director of police intelligence and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
He is also responsible for setting up the Anti-Scam Command and Emergency Response Teams.
