Vermeille victor can give trainer Ferland Ist French Holy Grail win

French trainer Christophe Ferland has a strong chance of capturing his first Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe with top fancy Aventure on Oct 5.
After moving base from La Teste to France’s horse racing capital Chantilly since January 2023, Ferland has yet to etch his name on the Arc honour roll, but he has previously found success on the undercard.
His two winners during the prestigious weekend, both at Group 1 level, were Dabirsim, winner of the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (1,400m) in 201, and Indonesienne, victorious in the Prix Marcel Boussac (1,600m) in 2013.
Owned by Wertheimer & Frere, Aventure finished second to Bluestocking in the 2024 Arc, and appears even stronger in this year’s 104th running of the €5 million (S$7.56 million) Group 1 Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (2,400m) at ParisLongchamp.
The Sea The Stars four-year-old filly has already won the Group 3 Prix Allez France (2,000m) at ParisLongchamp and the Group 2 Prix Corrida (2,100m) at SaintCloud, both against fillies only.
In the Group 1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (2,400m) at the end of June, only Calandagan managed to beat her.

TWISTED STEEL BIDS FOR THIRD IN A ROW
RACE 4 (6) TEXAN DREAM looks like a jump-and-run sort and when you consider that Luke Fernie won this race in 2024 with Capitola off the same preparation (Belmont Park 400m jump-out two weeks before Opening Day), then he becomes increasingly attractive.
