7 MPs appointed to Committee of Selection

Seven MPs have been appointed to the Committee of Selection, which nominates members to the other six Standing Select Committees of the House.

Five are new: Ministers Ong Ye Kung and Masagos Zulkifli, Minister of State Gan Siow Huang, labour chief Ng Chee Meng and backbencher Henry Kwek (Kebun Baru).

Leader of the House Indranee Rajah and Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh return to the committee.

The previous term's committee included Ministers Edwin Tong and Tan See Leng, Senior Ministers of State Koh Poh Koon and Zaqy Mohamad, and backbencher Denise Phua (Jalan Besar GRC).
