The study of International Political Economy (IPE) examines where the power lies in the global economy.

- EDWARD HALL

A master's degree helps students to understand how the global economicsystem is constructed, shaped, and intertwined with international, national, and regional politics.

Why does the study of International Political Economy matter?

Ongoing geopolitical conflicts have had severe impacts on trade, resource access, inequality and inflation. Environmental policies, such as carbon pricing and Emissions Trading Systems (ETS), have shifted the international market, introducing challenges of implementation, cost, and regulatory divergence.

Those in India will recognise the pressing politico-economic challenges of youth unemployment and wealth distribution. Although the country’s economy is one of the fastest-growing in the world, inequality has been sharply on the rise. Studying a master's in IPE will teach individuals how to tackle the unique regional and global challenges currently faced by the country.

What will you learn on an IPE postgraduate course?

IPEstudents comprehensively analyse the complex interplay between political power and economic systems. Course curricula are designed to address contemporary issues, enhance employability skills, and encourage individuals to explore how to achieve a more just, equal, and sustainable society.
