Next time, for sure

She was seeing him again after five years. And though she had steeled herself against melting, having seen so many of his old photos to prepare herself, she could not help but find her fortifications weakening when she saw him. She was transported back to school. The butterflies in her stomach rose to a flutter as he came to meet them.

He used to be infested with her dreams. She had a bad habit of making appearances in his dreams back then.

And he had thought he was past that phase when suddenly that morning, she decided to make a cameo again after years. He woke up with a bittersweet feeling in his heart. He called up his friend immediately and declared that they had to get the old gang back together; it had just been too long!

And surprisingly, it worked out! Nobody protested or cancelled, and everybody's schedules magically lined up. It seemed that all his stars had rallied together. It was a miracle. He was finally going to meet her.

As everybody took their seats at the table, he tried to sit next to her, but her best friend beat him to it. Disappointed, he sat at the head of the table, so at least he could see her easily.
