West Bengal STF arrested two suspected Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) operatives—Ajmal Hussein and Saheb Ali Khan—in Birbhum district during late-night raids
The West Bengal Special Task Force (STF) arrested two suspected Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) militants in Birbhum district late last night.
Their arrest has caused a major stir in the region, particularly against the backdrop of heightened national security tensions involving Pakistan.
JMB is a banned terrorist organization based in Bangladesh.
The STF operatives, heavily armed, conducted simultaneous raids in Nalhati and Murarai, two locations in Birbhum district, and apprehended Ajmal Hussein (28) and Saheb Ali Khan (28).
Both individuals were produced before the Rampurhat sub-divisional court today.
