The Indian Premier League (IPL) is known for almost astronomical scores with batters bludgeoning bowlers on placid batting tracks.
On Saturday evening, both sets of batters took the rival bowling attacks to the slaughter house as Sunrisers Hyderabad overpowered Punjab Kings by eight wickets.
The contest witnessed an awesome display of power-hitting as Punjab Kings piled on an impressive 245/6 only to see Abhishek Sharma smash his way to a jaw-dropping 141 off a mere 55 deliveries as the hosts pulled off the second highest chase in the history of the IPL.
Abhishek hit 14 boundaries and 10 sixes on his way to the third highest individual score in IPL history. It was also the highest score by an Indian in the IPL.
