Markets Rise As Investors Dismiss US Tariff Worries

Sensex Was Up 418.81 Points At 81,018.72, And The Nifty Was Up 157.40 Points At 24,722.75
The stock market on Monday began the week on a positive note, snapping a two-day losing streak with Nifty above 24,700 amid buying across the sectors.
At close, the Sensex was up 418.81 points or 0.52 per cent at 81,018.72, and the Nifty was up 157.40 points or 0.64 per cent at 24,722.75.
The BSE Midcap index jumped 1.11 per cent, while the Smallcap index rose 0.76 per cent.
The overall market capitalization of firms listed on the BSE to nearly Rs 449 lakh crore from Rs 444.5 lakh crore in the previous session.
On Nifty50, around 43 stocks ended higher. The key ones included Hero MotoCorp up by 5.18 per cent, Tata Steel up by 4.08 per cent, and Adani Ports up by 3.56 per cent.
While on the losing side were the shares of Power Grid Corporation down by 1.12 per cent, HDFC Bank down by 0.88 per cent, and ONGC down by 0.70 per cent.
Among the sectors, Nifty Metal jumped 2.48 per cent, Realty up by 1.77 per cent, Auto up by 1.61 per cent, IT up 1.60 per cent, Media up by 1.51 per cent, Consumer Durables up by 1.37 per cent.
