Centre assures financial support under PMKSY Scheme to revive food processing business in Bengal

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI) has sanctioned an investment of 181 crore for West Bengal under the Centre's production-linked incentives (PLI) scheme.
The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI) has sanctioned an investment of 181 crore for West Bengal under the Centre's production-linked incentives (PLI) scheme. In addition to the PLI funding, the Centre will provide over 1,000 crore to the state's food processing sector over five years, subject to the fulfilment of conditions under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY).
Subrata Gupta, Union Secretary of MOFPI, announced this financial aid to revitalise Bengal's food processing sector during an industry interactive session organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Kolkata on Monday evening.
