PV Anwar to contest as an independent after EC rejects his nomination as Trinamul candidate

The Election Commission has on Tuesday rejected the nomination papers filed by PV Anvar as a Trinamul Congress candidate on technical grounds during scrutiny.
However, the Commission has accepted his second set of nomination as an independent candidate. As a result, Anvar will now contest the election in Nilambur as an independent candidate. He had also filed his nomination to contest as an independent.
